Honda cut 2026 prices sharply in April 2026, making it one of the better-value midsize EVs in the US. Honda has also confirmed that Prologue sales will end later in 2026, after the 2026 model year. The company says dealers will continue to provide service, parts and warranty support. Design & Interior The cabin is conventional and easy to understand, with an 11.3-inch touchscreen running Google built-in software. Edmunds praises the Google Maps navigation and voice assistant. Unlike GM's own electric SUVs, the Prologue also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless charging pad, USB-C ports and 12-volt outlets in both rows are included. A 12-speaker Bose sound system and a panoramic roof are available. Reviewers flag poor rearward visibility as the main ergonomic weakness. Driving Single-motor models produce 220 hp and dual-motor models 300 hp, according to Honda. Edmunds recorded 6.2 seconds from 0 to 60 mph in an Elite AWD, which is middling for the class. Handling is competent rather than sporty. Edmunds found the top-trim suspension stiff without any real handling benefit, and less comfortable than the related Chevrolet Blazer EV. The cabin is quiet at city speeds, although the low-speed pedestrian warning sound can be intrusive. Overall, it is a relaxed, easy car to drive rather than an exciting one. Range & Charging All versions use an 85 kWh battery. The EPA rates single-motor models at 308 miles, dual-motor EX and Touring models at 294 miles and the Elite at 283 miles. In Edmunds' real-world test, a Prologue Elite covered 320 miles, beating its EPA figure. Efficiency is reasonable for a midsize SUV, at up to 104 MPGe combined. Honda quotes about 65 miles added in 10 minutes of DC fast charging and 20–80% in 35 minutes. Honda supplies an adapter so owners can use Tesla Superchargers. Practicality Passenger space is a strong point, with plenty of room in both rows. Edmunds measures 23.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and Honda quotes up to 57 cubic feet with them folded. Honda's electric-vehicle battery warranty runs for eight years or 100,000 miles. For 2026, Honda also includes a charging adapter kit and a larger home-charger installation credit. Safety NHTSA gives the 2026 Prologue five stars overall. Frontal and side ratings are five stars, and rollover is five stars for FWD and four stars for AWD. In IIHS testing, the updated moderate overlap and side tests were rated Good, but the small overlap front test was Acceptable. The Prologue is not listed as an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Headlights and pedestrian crash prevention were both rated Acceptable. It is not sold in Europe or Australia, so it has no Euro NCAP or ANCAP rating. Verdict The Prologue is a spacious, comfortable and easy-to-live-with electric SUV with long range. After the 2026 price cuts it offers strong value, and it has the smartphone mirroring that GM's twins lack. Middling performance, a stiff ride on the Elite and poor rear visibility count against it. The planned end of sales may affect resale values, so buyers should weigh the discount against that risk.
