The facelifted version brings a bigger battery, revised styling and a refreshed cabin. It is built in Georgia for US buyers, and 2026 US prices fell compared with the previous year. Design & Interior The update gives the nose Kia's newer lighting signature and changes the bumpers and wheels. Inside, the curved twin 12.3-inch screens run updated software, and wireless phone mirroring arrives in Australia. The steering wheel and centre console are new. Reviewers praise the supportive front seats. The low roof limits front headroom for tall drivers, and thick pillars restrict rear visibility. Driving Rear-drive versions feel nimble for a two-tonne car, with little body roll and good steering response. Edmunds recorded 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds for a 320 hp AWD GT-Line. Australian testers found the ride jittery on poor surfaces, while US testers described it as smooth. The EV6 GT now produces 448 kW, matching the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, and adds simulated gear shifts. Range & Charging The long-range battery grew from 77.4 to 84 kWh. Australian RWD models are now rated at 560–582 km, and the best US version reaches 319 miles on the EPA cycle. Edmunds covered 296 miles in its real-world test, beating the 270-mile EPA figure for that version. Charging is a highlight: the 800-volt system takes about 18 minutes from 10–80% on an ultra-fast charger. Testers ranked it among the quickest-charging cars they have measured. Practicality Rear legroom is generous thanks to a long wheelbase, though the high floor puts rear passengers' knees up. The sloping roof cuts rear headroom and makes getting in slightly awkward. The boot holds 480–490 litres depending on market and about 1,250 litres with the seats folded. That is less than boxier rivals such as the Ioniq 5 and Model Y. Australian buyers get a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. Safety Euro NCAP awarded five stars in 2022. Scores were 90% for adult occupants, 86% for children, 64% for vulnerable road users and 87% for safety assist. ANCAP's matching five-star rating dates from 2022, excludes the GT and expires in December 2028. Neither rating is a new test of the facelift. Some Australian reviewers found the driver-assistance alerts distracting. Adaptive cruise and lane centring are standard. Verdict The facelifted EV6 is quicker to charge than almost anything at its price and now goes further between stops. It suits buyers who want a sharper drive than a typical family SUV. It is excellent value in the US after the price cut. In Australia it costs more than newer Chinese rivals. The firm ride, tight front headroom and modest boot are the main reasons to look elsewhere.
